Goals of Technology & Steam Friends Limburg
Come together as friends and share knowledge in the technology of steam engines and related model building. Sharing knowledge with interested parties at events. Have respect for each other's ideas and construction methods.
Areas of Focus
- Model building - Steam technology. - Vacuum machines. - Flame-eaters. - Hot air engines. - Restoration of machines. - Explosion engines. - RC models. - Propulsion techniques. - Metalworking.
House rules
- All members are friends, we treat each other with respect and accept each other's ideas and build. - New members must be nominated by current members and are admitted immediately if there are no objections from the majority of current members. - New members must already be active in one or more focus areas.
Safety
Safety when using a steam boiler is essential, which is why we use the Inspection Regulations for Model Steam Boilers. This was the result of a collaboration between Stoomgroep Holland (SGH), the Dutch Association of Model Builders (NVM), the Stoomgroep Turnhout (SGT), the KMYCA from Antwerp and the national Dutch steam groups, affiliated with the SvS, the Collaborative Group of Steam Groups. https://www.onderstoom.nl/website/veiligheid/
Members are responsible for an inspection of their boilers and must be properly insured for third-party liability at events.
